Last Friday I attended the United AGM at Old Trafford. I won't bore the non United fans with the details but two aspects of the meeting disappointed me.
1) Despite the encouraging noises made by Peter Kenyon with regards to greater communication between club and fans, the AGM was a classic of non communication by the board.
2) When I raised the thorny question of selected safe terracing, citing the example of Germany having been awarded the 2006 World Cup despite 3 of their clubs having standing terracing, which only need be converted for UEFA matches, Peter Kenyon claimed he attended a meeting with representatives of clubs from the Premier League, the Premier League themselves and UEFA and he said that "Standing" wasnot even on the agenda and would not be discussed.
Talk about 'hear no evil - see no evil'.
It's going to continue to be an uphill struggle for the powers that be to bend to the will of the majority of fans.
Like a salmon going upstream against the current we must keep on swimming, but it does get depressing when "they" just do not want to know.
