As Dermot rightly pointed out, you can't tell when at a game how loud or quiet it really is.

For the Chelsea and Slaven Liberec games I was in the centre of the Kop and it was so loud I went home with a headache.

If I'd been sat in the middle of the main stand, it may have been quiet.

Liverpool are lucky in that there IS a 'singing' part of the ground - the Kop - you feel obliged to sing and therefore do - when I sit in my season-ticket spec (Near the clock in the upper centenary) I tend to be fairly quiet - unless I've had a few pints - as most people up there don't sing - and it's embarrasing to be singing on your own (Whether we're winning or not :) )

It is funny that everyone is taking this seriously as I was just really taking a swipe at that muppet (Nick) who called Liverpool fans a 'disgrace'

I was trying to make the point about people in glass houses..

: I agree here...
: A) as stadia get bigger, it's harder to create a good atmosphere... you almost get a round of singing that is starting in one stand as it finishes in another... so it just fades to silence
: B) as you get inundated with 'picnickers' who don't know the words to any of the songs and can only get their face out of their sandwiches for long enough to say 'Sit Down' things will never get better.
