iam working on a dissertation concerning the commercialisation of association football paying particular attention to the premier league as the catalst to the modern game we watch and pay for today. i think that social classes have changed to an extent, football in britian is no longer a working class game, as the premiership took center stage, it gave the big wigs a chance to exploit its attraction and make it accessable to the middle class while unaccessable to the working class. it is obvious that money and the disposable income of the middle class was one of the main reasons football has become soo expensive, another problem i feel is the element or the perception of the working class i.e. they are the ones who spawn hooiganism. these are just some thoughts floating in my head, please do not see them as argumentative, it would be nice if you could get back to me and we can exchange some more ideas!!
