Of course I was at the game!

Funnily enough, I went with a lad from work called Khalid. The only other footy game he'd gone to in his entire life was with a bunch of my colleagues who all went to the United v Anderlecht game. He commented on how great it was and what an amazing ground Old Trafford was.

I got him a seat halfway up the Upper Centenary on the half-way line and he was amazed by the view. The view he got from OT apparantly was right at the top of one of the new stands where he said the view was crap and the players tiny. He appreciated the Kop and the general atmosphere of the ground, saying that if he took his son to a game he would much rather go to Anfield (his words, not mine) he commented that Anfield was 'cosier' and had a better atmosphere and that OT to him, after seeing Anfield was sterile and commercialised.

It might have sounded quiet on the old box, but it was BBC who presented the program and i've noticed that before about their live programs. To me it sounded pretty loud and, as I said, my colleague was impressed.

We do get a different bunch of people coming to European games, but for my friend to say that Anfield was louder than OT (especially since United won 6-0 and we had a REALLY dull 0-0) says it all!

: Where you at the game last night?

: I see you struggled through but what about that crowd. The atmosphere at Anfield is worse than at OT, and that's saying something beleive me.

: I could actually hear the ball being kicked.

: Do you get a different crowd for European nights or is it always that bad these days.

: Oh yeah, really funny at half time when they decide to interview some typical fans, out of three only one was a scouser.
